Sandi Weld of Italy won the 72nd World Champion Liar Contest in Brulington， Canada， on December 31, 2002. Several hundred participants from the US， Canada， South Africa and India entered this year's contest. Weld won by writing： "When I moved to Iron Mountain， Michigan， I brought my pet sheep. He fed on the mineral rich grass. When the time came to shear him in spring， I ended up with nine pounds of steel wool."
