Chinese basketball player Yao Ming was picked up by the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft in New York on June 26. He becomes the first international to be honored with the overall first-place pick this year. The 2.25-meter Chinese center will join his Chinese teammates Wang Zhizhi of the Dallas Mavericks and Bateer of the Denver Nuggets, to make China's “Walking Great Wall”.
