My vampire friend.(4)

北京市三帆中学一年10班 VAMPIRE13

“You’re not trying to…” I was too scared to let the words out.“Yes, I am.” She walked out, leaving me there, turning completely pale.
Chapter 4
“Guys, I got to go. Todd is waiting.” Helen stood up, with a handful of plastic bags. 小荷作文网 www.zww.cn
“Huh? Where are you going?” asked Katlin, putting the wallet back in her leather handbag. 小 荷 作文网 www.zww.cn
“They’re heading for the ‘Bar of Gold’. It’s a restaurant.” I explained, still very confused of Katlin’s reaction.
“Why? That’s really a coincidence. Cus Jessica and I were thinking…” She began.
No, please. I never thought to do… What ever Katlin will say.
“…to go to the Bar of Gold, too.” She finally managed to finish her lie. What?! I never said that!
“Err…Jessica? Why did you tell me that earlier?” I opened my mouth but nothing came out. Ochh! Katlin pinched me! I stared at her furiously, “Why’d you do that?” I demanded indignantly, giving a signal of anger
“Cus I don’t want you to ruin my plan.”
  What plan?
“Well then.” Helen figured out for some reason. I wasn’t going to reply. “Let’s go together.”
A cunning smile came to Katlin’s lips.

This place was really cozy, with all that candles and rock music. I like the atmosphere, witch was soon ruined by Katlin. We all took seat beside the wall
I ordered some pasta and meatballs. Todd got some roast beef. Helen as usual, asked for some garlic bread. Garlic is good for health and I was told it could drive away evil spirits such as vampires. Look, what did our Miss- irritating Katlin get? Garlic bread as well.
“Isn’t garlic bread the most marvelous food ever?” Katlin boasted. I even wonder if she knew what garlic was. “I used to eat ten loaves of it everyday.” She boasted some more.
  Helen smiled weakly.
Katlin finally took a tiny-mini bit of the bread, trying to hide her disgusted look. She swallowed painfully.
“Ewww…What is all that white spicy stuff?” She chocked, drinking greedily from the glass. She rinsed the strong smell with water.
“Garlic. That stuff is G-A-R-L-I-C!” I drawled, couldn’t stand her anymore.
“Well, I never thought that there would be so much garlic in this bread.” She said, making a fool out of herself.
  What an excuse!
“It’s supposed to be a garlic bread, the ones you used to have teen loaves per day?” I reminded sarcasticly.
“But in my hometown. Garlic tasted salty and they were green.” She kept on.
Did she mention that she came from the town of FREAKS?
  Lie, just keep on lying.
What kind of Garlic would be salty and green? Rotten ones, I think.
I ate a spoonful of pasta, ignoring katlin.
Helen took a mouthful bite of the garlic bread, unable to say anything.
Only, Todd, while slicing his beef, he listened vigorously to Katlin’s crap!
 *****************************************************
“Why did you imitate Helen all the time?” I finally asked Katlin when we were alone in the washing room.
“It’s none of your business.” She barked grimly.
“You’re not trying to…” I was too scared to let the words out.
“Yes, I am.” She walked out, leaving me there, turning completely pale.
