Back to 2003 , when I was still a child full of passion, which enabled me to jump here and there all day long, I was so busy dealing with all kinds of mess in my life. Those Gizmos were rapidly abandoned when I accidentally found that I could, somehow, earn a lot of money from manufacturing little bows and arrows and sell them to my crazy energetic classmates. I earned like 200 Yuan, finally, which was an unbelievable number to a pupil.
Since then, I tended to be more and more curious about all knowledgein my little world. Sometimes I fell deep in though, maybe about the meaning of a slang, a strange animal behavior, or even the everlasting solar system. The unknown fields always attracted me deeply, I could spend a whole day reading an encyclopedia instead of jumping or playing outside. But it was good since my parents preferred me to stay at home reading and not come back as a dirty mess.
Although students like me were not encouraged in most Chinese schools 《they were considered to be bad boys, sadly》, my senior high school teacher encouraged me to read and think those’crazy’ ideas. Despite of the influence my teacher gave me, things did not really changed a lot till I met Prof. Gaulin.
It’s pretty hard for me to describe him, Prof. Gaulin is a really kind man with a nice-looking white beard under his nose, which gave me the strongest impression. Due to his white beard, some of my classmates called him’prof. Seal’ I remember once Prof. Gaulin gave us an assignment, to find and introduce an interesting phenomenon we found to our class. I thought theres must be some limitation , but when I asked him, he said, “Always follow your curiosity.” I though it must be that time when I finally found my path. It’s such a exciting assignment because no students in my hometown would ever expected their teacher to give any assignments like that after graduating from elementary schools. And now, this ever-lasting sentence in my heart gives me 200% confidence and strength to face all challenges and tasks.
There must be something changed in my heart, and now I know what it is. Thanks my dear curiosity, and it’s time for a true display of skills!
