In the Summer Holiday, I often read the book called Magic Tree House. And once when I finished reading Story 10 Ghost Town at Sundown, I discovered that there were words to a song behind it! The song was called Red River Valley. I tried to read it for once. I felt like it’s a poem.
But how do I sing it? I didn’t know at all.
I thought, “Can I find its tune?” So I tried to find it in my E. Piano music, “Hey, I found it!” I looked at the music and play it for several times, it sounded so good!
Next, I copied the words of the song on a piece of paper.
I sat by the piano, played the piano and sang. A little while later, I learned how to sing the first part:
“From this valley they say you’re going,
I shall miss your sweet face and bright smile,
For they say you’re taking the sunshine,
That has brightened my pathway a while.”
I sang and sang, and I felt that I can saw a cowboy was singing this song to the girl that he loved before they separate. I can almost felt his sadness.
Then, I started learning the second part:
“Come and sit by my side if you love me,
Do not hasten to bid me adieu,
For remember the Red River Valley,
And the cowboy who love you so true.”
I sang the song many times and I finally know how to sing it all.
I still don’t really understand some parts of the content of the song. But it has beautiful melody, it sounded good and it’s the first song I learned by myself. So I like it very much.
