Today is New Year's Eve. We are having a party at school! We began preparing since the end of the second class in the morning which was Chinese. The playtime was filled with blowing up balloons. Some classmate's balloons popped when they are blowing it. The computer was turned on and music was played. Everybody was waving their little balloons. This time, one of the classmates suddenly discovered that if you rub your balloon on your hair, you can make it stick onto the wall. Lots of children put their balloons on the wall. When the teacher noticed, the piece of wall was already filled with balloons. There are balloons on the windows too. It looked beautiful. "Balloons are surely good of decoration," I thought. It's now time for some kids to show what has they prepared about. My friends played the flute. One boy sang a song and two others say riddles. I didn't guess any of the riddles, too hard, and that also mean I didn't get any special treats. But during this time, we already began eating the fruit and the snacks which we brought, I shared with classmates and they shared with me. Sharing is wonderful. Then we played some group games which our teacher decided for us. There was the flower game and the guessing word game. The flower game was everyone got a flower and they-Well, let me give you an example. If you are holding the blue flower, you have to say "blue turnip squat " for three times. Then you say another colour of turnip root like "red turnip squat " and the person holding the red flower has to do the same as you. Of course the colour was different. After several rounds, our teacher sees who speaks most clearly and quickly and he or she will get a prize. The guessing word game is the teacher shows the first person in line a word and that person pass it on to another person with action. You aren't allowed to speak. The second person passes onto the third person. The last person has to guess the word. Every classmate got a lollipop. Then, the music played on the computer, it's "Jingle Bells " in Chinese. I gave the classmates the candy which I prepared because it's my birthday. Then I went back to my seat and tried to learn to sing it since our teacher lets us. I have seen the words yesterday so I remember some parts. The teacher walked around the classroom to see who sang well and she gave me a small bag of coffee. The rest of the class wasn't really well. The only part which everybody sings was "Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way. " Then, I told the teacher about my song of "Jingle Bells " in English. She let me sing it, and I sang it pretty well. There were applause, and the teacher told me that I did a good job. At last, it's the show of several classmates together. They are playing a game, but they didn't say the rules and started playing right away, and we don't understand it. So their show failed. Anyway, the whole thing was pretty good, and it's my first staying in school on December 31st! |
