In the south black people and white people were segregated. For example, black people could not sit at the front of the bus. Because they always had to sit in the back. Black people feel unfairly treated they felt it was time for a change in the law. It took a tired, working woman to start the change that would affair sergeant.
Segregation was a way of keeping two groups of people unfairly separated. Black people in the south could only ride the bus if they sat in the back. However, white people could sit anywhere on the bus. This treatment caused many black people to feel inferior.
